SHARING IS CARING!

Pushing past fear in your business to reach your goals

It’s pep talk time for those who need to hear this!

Let’s talk about fear.

Fear is a big thing. Especially when it comes to fear of the unknown.

What if you start a business and it gets too big or too successful? (Yes, that is a fear that I’ve heard!)

Or what if your business completely flops?

Or what if you start this business and find out that 10 other people are doing the exact same thing that you’re doing?

You may be in the place right now where you know what you want to do and you have that urge to do it, and you may have even taken the first steps to making it happen, but you’re stuck because you don’t know what’s next.

If this sounds familiar, start by asking yourself: what is the worst that could happen?

You started a business and nobody bought anything on your first launch day. Did you die? Are you still breathing? Yes? Ok, so let’s go back and see what happened, what might have gone wrong, and what you can do better for next time.

Or, if your fear is of doing something that 100 other people are doing, ask yourself why thousands of doctors enroll in medical school every year to save lives, even though there are thousands of doctors already in the industry – no aspiring doctor thinks “gee, too many doctors out there, I better not pursue my passion,” right?

The solution to these fears is to figure out deep down where your fear is stemming from, then to remember that failure is really just a learning curve. If I hadn’t failed thousands of times in my life I wouldn’t be where I am today – and that’s a fact.

If you can, try to position your fear as a positive in some way – if it’s a fear of failure, remember that each setback brings a lesson that you can only grow from.

And remember also that no matter what, it will always work out. It may not work out the way that you expected, but I promise that you’re not going to die, you’ll still be breathing, and everything will be ok if you just keep pushing into that space and keep doing what’s in your heart. Continue to take action, the better the result will be.

The thing with fear is that it’s never going to go away completely, it will always be there in some form or fashion. Our responsibility though is to figure out how to push past that fear

Even with myself and my own launches, I still have to write myself little affirmations reminding myself that it’s ok, that I’m fulfilling my purpose – even if I’m only doing it for one person! And I’ve been through dozens of launches now, so this is not my first rodeo!

The biggest thing is to realize that fear is literally just an emotion, it can’t hurt you, and just like any other emotion – happiness, sadness, joy, grief, whatever it may be – you can get past it if you’re willing to take the necessary steps to make it happen.

Whatever you do, don’t let fear hinder you. Don’t let it stand in your way. If you can’t get through the fear, you’ll never get to build a business and a life that you truly love and live for.
