Freelancing tips : Episode 10, Life After 8-Weeks of Working for Yourself

Are you curious what it’s like to leave your corporate job and strike out on your own? Today’s episode is a little bit different. I didn’t want the Pinegate Road Podcast to just be interviews with inspiring people; I also wanted to share my journey of how I’m working through running my business and working from home. Episode 10 seemed like the perfect time to update you on how things have been going since I left my corporate job and started working for myself full-time. I really focus on finding your values and share the three values that have been guiding my life.

Topics we cover:

— The three values that have been guiding my life
— Feeling out of alignment and getting burnt out from trying to hustle for the traditional definition of success
— My three core values: freedom, health & wellness, friends & family
— How these values guide every area of my life but also look different in each season of my life
— What my schedule looks like now that I’m 8 weeks into working for myself full-time
— How this new schedule contrasts with the stress I felt in my day job
— My attempts to instate a Friday coffee shop day and reserve them for doing personal work
— How I’m using a new app to help me learn to love running and create some structure with my workouts
— My advice for getting started with bullet journaling without making it overwhelming
— How my new mastermind group is creating motivation and accountability for me
— The anxiety I’m feeling around starting a family while running my own business
— My plans to build in more streams of passive income
— The transitions I’m looking to make in my business model
— The health retreat I’m going on
— How working too hard and being inconsistent with my diet negatively impacted my health
— My journey with emotional eating and weight loss
— The changes I made to prioritize my friends and family more
— How podcasting and blogging help me stay connected with friends & family
